Why does my silk bonnet have a faint sour smell? Is it safe?

How do I remove the smell?

Mix 1 tbsp white vinegar with 4L cool water. Soak bonnet 2–5 min, then gently rinse under cool running water. Air dry flat in shade. This will removes odor & leaves silk softer & more lustrous.

Can I just throw it in the washer and dryer?

We recommend gentle hand washing and hanging to dry in the shade. High spin cycles damage silk fibers. High heat and direct sunlight cause the silk to turn stiff and lose its luster. Proper care extends its service life.
