Active Iron is a patent-protected novel iron complex (ST-1046) containing ferrous sulfate, within a denatured whey-protein isolate and short-chain fatty acid matrix.

Ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) oxidises to ferric iron (Fe³⁺), which is less soluble and must be converted back to Fe²⁺ before uptake by intestinal cells. Active Iron’s matrix is designed to protect and maintain the iron its most absorbable form (Fe²⁺).
